Good Faith Estimate
The live notice says patients who do not have insurance or are not using insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining the expected cost of non-emergency medical items and services, including related costs.
It says to request the estimate before scheduling and to receive it in writing at least one business day before the service or item. The notice states that a patient may dispute a bill that is at least $400 above the estimate and recommends keeping a copy.
